
What is Spam?
Spam is commercial email or unsolicited bulk emails that have not been requested or consented to by the recipients. This relates to emails for marketing purposes with the aim of encouraging the recipients to pay or subscribe to a company’s services
The email services offered by rdcom are reserved for the sole and exclusive purpose of sending emails to recipients that have expressed clear commitment to receive marketing related material from the sender. This practice is known as Permission-based Email Marketing and its core concept is consent being given to receive relevant promotional emails and material.
rdcom operates a zero-spam tolerance and any user of our multichannel platform or other services found to be sending communication that does not comply with this will have action taken against them.
We have processes in place to during the registration and verification processes to fully vet customers and ensure that the accounts being created are to be used for genuine purposes and that the communication sent will comply with relevant guidelines and legislation.
What is Phishing?
Phishing is the practice of sending emails with the intention of committing fraudulent activities for personal gain. This differs from spam as rather than attempting to send promotional material with the aim of generating revenue, phishing includes criminal behaviour that can have devastating consequences for its victims.
rdcom is wholly committed to eradicating phishing from our industry.
Our email marketing platform includes robust and innovative anti-spam checks and has the capabilities to block phishing campaigns from being sent. In the unlikely event that a phishing email is sent, action will be taken immediately, and the sender reported to the relevant authorities.
How to Avoid IP Blacklist or Spam Reports
All users who sign-up to the rdcom platform to access and use our email marketing services, are required to review, and accept the Terms of Use and comply with the company’s Anti-Spam policy.
Every user of the platform is required to load their list of contacts comply with all the relevant legislation, including ensuring that all the appropriate permissions have been acquired to send marketing related email campaigns.
Any violation of the agreed Spam Policy includes the following:
First report of spam: account suspension of 1 week
Second report of spam: account suspended for 2 weeks
Third report of spam: final suspension of the account
In the instance that an IP or domain are inserted into a blacklist due to activity related to spam, rdcom will apply a penalty of €1,000.00 per IP.
When there are more serious instances of spam or widespread blacklisting of IPs, rdcom will report each instance of spam to the relevant authorities with further action to be taken.
How Does rdcom Protect Privacy?
When sending emails, you must ensure that they are only sent to contacts who have given clear and voluntary consent to being contacted by you
Under no circumstance should you purchase, rent, or copy email addresses supplied by third parties for marketing purposes
If possible, use a double opt-in procedure to ensure that content is explicitly given
Under no circumstance should you purchase, rent, or copy email addresses supplied by third parties for marketing purposes
If an account is found to be violating any of anti-spam and phishing protocols, then any money paid shall not be refunded under any circumstance.
If you believe you have received a promotional email from a rdcom client that you did not sign-up to, or agree to receive promotional emails from, then please unsubscribe using the relevant link within the email. If this option is not functioning correctly or available, please contact privacy@rdcom.com or dpo@rdcom.com and action will be taken to remove your personal details from the relevant list and remind the relevant sender of best practices and issues a warning, if necessary.
Antispam Policy
If someone believes that they have been a victim of spam, please report the instance with as many details as possible to privacy@rdcom.com or dpo@rdcom.com. Following this we shall ask you for further information and documentation to provide further information and documentation to enable us to take further action.
