Zapier: integration with inTouch for sending SMS messages

How does the Zapier integration work?

inTouch has its own Zapier app that allows you to use the platform’s SMS gateways to send messages directly from Zaps. Below are the steps to connect your inTouch account to Zapier and set up the Zap correctly.

Requirements

To send SMS messages from Zapier via inTouch, you will need:

a Zapier account

an inTouch account

Once you have created your inTouch account, you can proceed to create the Zap.

You can download the PDF version of the guide or visit this page whenever you need to.

1. Creating the Zap

Go to the Assets → Zaps section in Zapier and create a new Zap.

Select the app that will generate the trigger (the event that starts the Zap).

2. Selecting the inTouch app as an action

Once you have selected the Trigger, search for and select the inTouch by rdcom app as the Action.

At this point, you can set up SMS messaging.

3. Configuring the Action

First, select an Action Event, in this case ‘Send SMS’.

Next, you need to connect your inTouch account to Zapier.

To connect, you will need:

Account code

API Token

You can find these settings in your inTouch account, under the Settings section.

To access this, click on your username in the top right-hand corner and then select Settings.

4. Field configuration (Configure)

Once you have selected the Action Event and linked your account, go to the Configure section, where you need to set the following parameters:

Gateway and Sender

Phone numbers

Delimiters

Text

The ‘Telephone number(s)’ and ‘Text’ fields can be filled in manually or populated using data mapped from the Trigger.

5. Testing and publication

Once you have configured all the fields, you can send a test message to check that the SMS is being sent correctly.

If the test is successful, click Publish to activate the Zap.

From now on, Zap will automatically send text messages via inTouch according to the specified settings.

Ready to activate the integration? Open Zapier, Search for inTouch by rdcom and create your first SMS Zap straight away.
